What is a JavaScript?

JavaScript is a wide-ranging programming language used to make web pages more interactive.

Have you ever thought that your website is missing something? Maybe it is not responsive enough or not as customized as you would like it to be. The JS is the missing component, which can be used to enhance websites, applications, etc. to provide a more user-friendly experience.

Moreover, it is the language of the web, it is used to make the web look alive by adding movement. More specifically, it's a programming language that lets you implement complex and beautiful things/design on web pages. When you notice that a web page does more than just sit there and stare at you, you can bet that the web page is JavaScript used.

 

What is the function of JavaScript?

As JavaScript was first released, it was called Mocha, later it was renamed to LiveScript and then to JavaScript renamed when Netscape (founded JavaScript) and Sun entered into a license agreement.

  • Interpreted language: It does not have to be compiled like Java and C, which have a Compiler need.
  • JavaScript runs in a Browser: You can run it with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc. JavaScript can be used not only in the Browserbut also on the server and any device with a JavaScript Engine to be executed.

Currently we have hundreds of programming languages and new languages are being developed every day. Among them are a few powerful languages that are causing big changes in the market, and JavaScript is one of them.

The popular JS has always been on the list of popular programming languages. According to StackOverflow, it has remained the most popular and widely used programming language for the 6th consecutive year.

 

What can JS do?

It is mostly known for creating beautiful websites and applications. One example of this is Google Maps. If you want to explore a particular map, all you have to do is click and drag with your mouse. And what kind of language could do that? You guessed it! It's JS.
Java Script can also be used in smart watches. One example is the popular smartwatch manufacturer Pebble. Pebble has created Pebble.js, a small JavaScript-framework that allows a developer to create an application for the watch line in Java Script.

The most popular websites like Google, Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, etc. use JavaScript, to create their websites. In addition to mobile applications, digital art, web servers and server applications will be JavaScript also used for the production of games. Many developers create small games and apps with JavaScript.
